Head straight for Prague’s most bohemian area, Old Town’s Dlouhá street, where cocktail bars and hippie coffee houses vie for space with antique shops and the classic Czech pub grub establishments.
A must here with its mix of Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic façades. Take in the surreal 15th-century Astronomical Clock on one side and Saloun’s grimacing Protestant martyr in bronze on the other.
Ride the 22 tram up to Prague Castle (entry £5) for an afternoon exploring the seat of the P˘remyslid dynasty, the millennium-old St Vitus’ Cathedral, and the Romanesque St George’s Basilica.
