Well She towers just above the Serdica metro station - greeting everyone. I would say She has a slightly “revealing” outfit and a matching funny smile.
This is where they have the fountain with the mineral water just flowing out of the fountain. You can also fill your bottles for free. The colours in autumn is just beyond words, like a painting
Sofia I loved you for all your arts and your parks. I would say the best time to visit is during autumn when the colours are simply splendid
It is a 2 hour trip from Sofia, definitely worth the trip. The colors are splendid in the autumn. Very peaceful. Great to take a walk around the monastery, pls drink the water from the fountains.
I think it looks like a big birthday cake. The interior on the other hand doesn’t live up to the exterior, not very well kept, dark. Love the fleamarket held in the park nextdoor during the weekends.
Definitely my favourite art space in Sofia - among those I visited. The art, the displays and lighting were all great. Plus of course there was a good selection of english books - loved the place
Obviously the only time you can “officially” walk across the bridge is during the istanbul marathon and trust me just for that it is worth participating
The village is a 1.5 km walk from the ruins of Priene. (Güllübahçe is the current name) with its whitewashed stone houses is a very quiet, pleasant village where time seems to have stood still
Built in 1821 its size suggests a fairly affluent community. Sadly it’s in a shocking state of disrepair, stripped of every piece of reusable material and decoration, only a few mural paintings remain
I like the fact that there are so many of them scattered around the city center. They are relatively cheaper and orderly supermarkets
They have a fair selection of english books. The entrance is coffee shop / bookstore in one. The display of the books is very attractive. Intellectual environment for some coffee
There are quite a few of these shops across Sofia - basically #outlet clothes and shoes stores and one can find some really good bargains for fair prices. You really have to look though
I really appreciate the way they have kept the remains of St Spas church underneath the building. Definitely worth a visit for the remains and I believe there are mural paintings which I did not see
It is right by the sea. Their speciality is seafood. Prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. I usually go for sea bass.
A traditional Turkish tapas restaurant. The building opposite was once upon a time a Genoese courthouse, hence the name: Courthouse rest. The food is delicious and the prices reasonable. Very historic
I never thought I’d enjoy bubble tea so much. The price is almost the same as Starbucks. Delicious and fun. My recommendation would be Monster Bubba
The best is the one with minced meat filling - delicious and relatively inexpensive.
Would you believe it if I were to say that I had one of the best prosciutto artisan sandwich and coffee for an equivalent of USD 5?
Had kelle and paça soup - the presentation is wonderful, soup is delicious, very tasty indeed and so is the interior of the restaurant
Traditional Bulgarian food in a traditional setting - not cheap but worth it. I think it may be slightly touriaty as most people eating were non Bulgarian
What I love most about this building is that the exterior wall is used to display art - how cool is that
It is pretty inside and they have craft fairs once in a while which are exciting to catch
An alley with quite a few second hand bookstores, some rare finds. I can spend hours there
Definitely my favourite art gallery in Istanbul. The architecture and the art is wonderful. It is in a tough neighbourhood & there’s limited car parking space. Free shuttle is available from Tepebaşı
It is quite colourful and cheap - yet Dolapdere is one of the tougher neighbourhoods of İstanbul so watch out for wallet and all safety precautions
