I love this place. The focus is on wine clearly but they serve snacks as well. The wine list is unbelievable, go for one of their rarities or simply follow their recommendations – you won’t regret it.
I still prefer the cosiness of a place like Web Christel to the more modern restaurants but food and service here were absolutely convincing.
Sure, it’s not cheap but what you get is amazing food in an unpretentious environment. I just had (an amazing) salad with Schorle and a lot of fun watching the somewhat more pretentious guests.

It's not easy to find healthy food in Polanco. Compared to Ojo de Agua the food at Básico is more delicious. That the place is so small and doesn't offer much seating shouldn't keep you from going.
The spacious rooms are surrounding a beautiful and charming courtyard. The atmosphere is very peaceful here which we mainly enjoyed during breakfast. The staff was super friendly throughout our stay.
Beautifully refurbished old convent now used for cultural purposes. Watch for concerts organised by the Fonoteca in the main atrium.
As elegant as coffeehouse tradition can get. Not as atmospheric as the Café Einstein parent house on Kurfürstenstr. but much more sophisticated. I also love all things they‘re selling at the shop.
As someone who loves contemporary art I didn't mind that the location was small. The presentation sure is topnotch and the building a sight for itself.
The margeret cocktail I had here was out of this world (if a little small). And also the blue corn ravioli I ordered were a delight. You don't expect this from a mezcalería at all.
Only of a few rooms surrounding a courtyard but with interesting exhibitions on display. Photography or art lovers shouldn't miss this place. It's free anyway and just comes with a small donation box.

This is the place you're imagining when thinking of a Pacific coast restaurant. At night they illuminate the tables with candles and even put some on the rocks nearby. It's as romantic as it can get.
In this area it's easily the best restaurant when it comes to food, cosiness and atmosphere. The pizza I had was remarkably good. My margharita was a little watery but that's the only downside.
Although I know cozier places we enjoyed food and service a lot. Everything was tasty including the wine and the likeable owner took care of us himself which added to the experience

When in town you‘ll need to go. The bar captures the San Cristóbal spirit like none else. Stick to beer and don’t go for fancy. We experienced fantastic live music and a very friendly crowd.
This bar is still in the centre but not on touristy Andador Guadelupe. I asked whether there was a cocktail option and they came up with a super delicious Negroni. We had a perfect bar night.

Stayed at the 2-storey junior suite and loved the spacious rooms and the skilful combination of old and modern elements. Hotel is located right at the Guadelupe pedestrian area. Breakfast was amazing.
From all the handicraft stores in town this one has the biggest variety and the most original items. They also exhibit art and promote local artists. The current address is Real de Guadalupe 118.
This is a hidden gem in an otherwise unappealing town. The kind hosts got us pizza Especial (excellent!) and flan de elote as dessert (to die for!). If you‘re anywhere in the area you should pass by.
