Great views of the river and city, including of MIT. Really worth checking out when the weather is nice.
Very pretty inside with lots of marble. The newer central library at the back contesting children's and teen books is nice to sit and work in and is a lot quieter than the main reading room.
Creamy lattes and huge selection of sweets! Lots of seating too. Unfortunately no free wifi that I could get onto.
Not much seating in here but the staff are friendly and it wasn't too busy. Close to Back Bay station.
Wow, sandwiches here are amazing. Homemade bread is so good and ingredients all fresh. Get the footlight club!
Check out downstairs for a variety of used books, some really unusual ones down there for a good price.
Coffee shop on the second floor serves Starbucks, and I've heard they stock cake from the Cheesecake Factory too. Three floors of books as well! And far less busy than the Starbucks across the street.
Free tours before 3.30pm each day. Really beautiful and worth a visit. Enter via the general hooker entrance (not the main entrance, that's ceremonial).

Best ice cream I've ever had. Seriously. Particularly like the chocolate brownie batter flavour with hot fudge sauce. So indulgent, so good.
