Gorgeous rooftop worth the voluntary admission and ridiculous trek around the Medieval exhibit trying to find the elevator. Drinks are super expensive so come for the view & go towards 2nd Ave after.
When the weather gets warmer this is when this cool rooftop bar open up and all I can say is what a view! The drinks are pretty good but that view is to die for!

Located at the rooftop of the Met museum. The 'bar' is really just a concession stand that serves alcohol. Not worth going to just for the 'bar' but a must visit if you're already at the Met.
The Roof Garden has a new exhibit made entirely out of bamboo and it is still growing. A guided tour, running every half-hour takes you up on this bambooexhibit. It will be running until October 2010

Go here Fri & Sat, 4-8:30pm to grab a drink and listen to wonderful, live classical music. Great for people watching, resting after crawling all over the museum, & before going to your fav restaurant
You're paying for the views here, but you have to make the trip at least once during the summer. Cocktails are $15 and beers are $9, but the atmosphere makes up for the overpricing.
