Michele HandlonMarzo 27, 2011This is a pretty nice airport...it's clean and the personnel is friendly (but not TOO friendly), and food is reasonably priced.
Print a boarding pass - the mobile doc scanner at security is constantly "out of battery power" and you'll have to go back and print your boarding pass
TSA gets the lines through in a hurry, but if you're in a rush they have checkpoints on the lower level!

if you're early to pick someone up, there's free 1hr parking at the rental car facility. AC, bathrooms and snacks etc inside.
jamesSeptiembre 22, 2013If you're traveling Southwest, go through security area C regardless of gate. A little more walking but the line is about half as long.
Jaslynn DoddsFebrero 10, 2013Seems to have good luck at BWI. Just checked my 67lb bag with no problem on SW and got through security in 15 min. If the security line is long, try downstairs. It's never really crowded.
The downstairs Southwest security checkpoint is closed for construction. Get here early.

Tatum VayavanandaJulio 8, 2010If you're an evening arrival, have your people pick you up upstairs at departures; Few are there that late and no one is hassling you to move your car and it's much easier to spot your pick up.
Vino Volo has outlets at every wall table, and yummy Brie and prosciutto sandwiches...
Pro tip: there's an Au Bon Pain across from terminal a7 and a9. Best place to eat at BWI, hands down.

Take advantage of the newer security line downstairs in the Southwest baggage area before the masses find out.
The parking is a bit of a pain, and the color coding system they have in the garage is stupid.
Certainly an advantage to subscribe for Clear, this is a busy airport
Alexis McCartyAbril 29, 2012If you need to fill up the rental car gas tank better do it before you take the airport exit. There is none to be found anywhere near the car rental facility.

Small united flights make you check carry on luggage w/wheels at the gate, more or less defeating the purpose of only bringing carry on luggage.

Southwest won't let you use mobile devices during take off and landing. Be prepared to power down
Lizzy LouOctubre 31, 2012Curbside check in isn't always the fastest - check at the ticket counter first. Security is usually pretty slow, so arrive early!
Love what a short walk it is from curb to TSA to gate. So convenient.
One of the easier airports to navigate once the shuttle drops you off. TSA lines are manageable.
For southwest or AirTran flights go through security downstairs. Little known, small lines, moves fast.
Plenty of food selections, quick TSA lines, easy to navigate.

If you're flying United with a connecting Continental flight, arrive early - you'll be visiting both counters for tickets!
Big fan of the daily parking garage here complete with digital signs indicating number of open spaces per level.

Dustin JohnsonMarzo 28, 2012Be sure to make it here at least 45 min before your flight. We were 15 before the flight and luckily made it.
In terminal 1 use the security under the stairs (to the left as you face the ticket counter) - its faster.
One of the best and easiest airport to fly in and out of.
