A huge white building of modern architecture that houses some great permanent collections as well as some really worthwhile travelling collections. If you have time, you should check it out.
A huge greenspace in Atlanta, which was coincidentally designed by Frederick Law Olmstead (who also designed Central Park in NYC). A great place to take a walk.
This is a somewhat pricey but incredibly well done botanical garden. In December, it is all lit up with Christmas lights, which is a romantic spectacle.
You want to see where Atlanta's rich and famous live? Check out the Prado, which houses some amazing mansions and beautiful old-style homes.
Atlantic Station is a community built around a large outdoor mall. You need a movie theater? Find one here. Lots of shopping? Check. Sometimes Cirque de Soleil does shows here, as well!
This is off the map, but if you take the Arts Center Marta to Decatur, you can get to it quickly. Decatur is Atlanta's eccentric older sister who never sold out. Cool restaurants and shops to find.
This one is more touristy, but you can find some cool stuff here, like the World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium. Take Marta to The Dome/CNN Center stop.
Don't confuse it with Five Points! Little Five has coffee shops, boutiques and ethnic restaurants. If you don't mind panhandlers LP5 is the place to go. Take Marta to Edgewood and go west on McLendon.
A nice smattering of restaurants catered toward the Georgia Tech crowd. You can cross the 5th Street bridge and check out the Tech campus.
Forgot a tie? Need a Cartier watch or Prado bag? This is the place to go. Take Marta to Lenox and you are there. If you need even more class, check out Phipps Plaza across the street.
