Vegetarian tofu banh mi is underwhelming. If you're looking for a vegetarian banh mi get the cauliflower one.
Hot damn I love their sandwiches. Great prices. And the fries are fantastic. Love this joint. Get the tofu!
Sharon PithawallaDiciembre 14, 2018Good veggie options. I like the tofu sandwich more than the eggplant. The salt and pepper garlic fries with sliced jalapeños are good. Also a pretty decent Vietnamese coffee.
ajNoviembre 2, 2015Tried the catfish recently; it was meh. My go-to is the Combo bahnmi. jalapeno's are a must or youre weak!! just dont go here if youre after authenticity--i suggest Saigon Sandwich in the tenderloin

Rose ADiciembre 31, 2011Spot the Belly Bun on Foodspotting's Heard About SF Guide...but you must try the Caramel Citrus Rice Bowl (delicious white garlic rice)- Vegetarian sandwich is good (eggplant and cauliflower). The vegetarian salad is ok. Everything else vegetarian has a very strange taste. The combination of flavor is just odd.
Salt & Pepper Garlic fries are the best here, addictive and spicy. Was the meal down with their iced coffee.

Caramel bowl w/ lemongrass pork, pickled daikon, & brown rice. So good, jalapeños are a perfect compliment.

Love their Grilled Pork sandwich. Get it hot! Also their papaya noodle salad is also quite tasty.

Give the rice bowls a try! The caramel citrus rice bowl with brown rice and grilled tofu is topped with fresh avocado, beansprouts, orange, and grapefruit, and is mighty good.

The tofu here is surprisingly good. As in no-part-of-me-wishes-this-was-meat good.
It's such a cute lil fun place but very disappointed to learn that everything, and I mean everything has fish sauce - even in veggie sandwich or salad. Wish I knew before I ate :( Dislike completely.
