Leave lots and lots of time to clear security. It's very slow. The train doesn't go to the D terminal and doesn't really go to C either, it goes a couple hundred yards past and you have to walk back.

Heads up.. IAD to JFK and back is $49 during the week on JetBlue. I'll be here a lot more often.

Seats in Terminal B are super comfy to sit in...super UN-comfy to sleep in.
My family lovingly deemed the A concourse "A-gate hell". Always something going wrong here...
Don't buy from the newsstand (apparently named "newsstand") by baggage claim #4. Mixed nuts, jerky, and a water for over $15. Gfy.
Well, like others said, the best place on this airport is FIVE GUYS. Also, other thing to avoid about this airport: UNITED AIRLINES, they will always screw you up !
Tons of united lounge options and if you have Global Entry super fast to clear immigration and customs.

Concourse B is the most airy, open, bright terminal in all of Dulles. Even has a good assortment of food options. If you leave out of A, C, or D, they're a little gloomier.

Always helpful, but super expensive places to eat as expected. Only experience is with international flights
John BSeptiembre 13, 2016Poorly planned layout. After a long construction period, travelers still need to walk a mile to get to their terminals. Airport workers are rude and don't care to help travelers even basic directions.

US Air has all of terminal Z. TSA PreCheck and a US Air flight from Z make Dulles a tolerable experience.
Black bean burger at Au Bon Pain is good even if you're not a vegan
Star Alliance gold members... Check out the Lufthansa lounge in terminal B, especially if you have a first class ticket!
