Great bridge. Gets cold so bundle up. One of the best cities in the world. Love this place.
When walking across the bridge be sure to look up and explore different angles of the towers and cables. You'll find lots of intriguing compositions and abstracts. Early evening the light is best.

Rupesh KumarMarzo 25, 2017The full bridge walk is slightly difficult if windy. Layer your clothes, take raincoat as umbrella doesn't help in the wind. There is a shelter at the end Also toilets.Bus from there to SF costs$5.50
For the best view / picture opportunity of the bridge, go to baker beach. Much better views there than at the touristy gift shop area. Or go across the bridge to hawk hill, beautiful view there too

California Travel Tips - Veronica HillJunio 3, 2013Welcome to the Golden Gate! Did you know 120,000 cars travel across here daily? The bridge is 1.7 miles from beginning to end with a 4,200 foot suspension span. It takes about an hour to walk across.
The bridge is under construction, I can not walk all the way across. If you have a bike you can ride all the way across on the bike side! Great views even if it's foggy!
