Backery next to Edeka is great. Good coffee and surprisingly reasonable prices in comparison with the other cafes at the airport. Perfect for early morning flights!

Zita MeyerSeptiembre 1, 2019Ich finde den Flughafen sehr modern, mit Röhren beim Sec. Check in, self Check in etc. Alles übersichtlich. Man weiß immer wo man hin muss. Essensauswahl ist aber nicht so toll

Edeka is also the best place to grab a cheap meal in airport. Great sandwiches and the innocent smoothies are a fraction of price at the restaurants.
Bypass traffic and use the public train to/from the airport. Easy system, efficient, low cost.

If you are flying in christmas or summer session, it is a good chance to have delay of your flight. Take a small bottle of whiskey and drink it against the planes landing and taking off.
Glad that @Drive_Now is now also available in Hamburg. Pick/Leave your car at the airport at Parking deck 4 / Lane N / Level 2- "EDEKA" supermarket between terminal-1 and termimal-2, ground floor/arrival.

I was departing from terminal 2 and the Zool office (CC) was in terminal 1. With my wife in a wheelchair and two capin bags it was very hectic

btw: Moin Moin does NOT mean "Good Morning", you can say it all day. If you want to feel and act like a local (like "senf" suggested), and if you are under 40, you might want to use "Moinsen" instead.
Ich liebe das Peterle Frühstück bei Marchė. Leider wurde der Preis erhöht und ein Brötchen gestrichen. Trotzdem lecker!

Hamburg Airport was opened in January 1911, making it the oldest airport in the world still in operation. In November 2016 it was named after former senator of Hamburg and chancellor of Germany, Helmut Schmidt. It is the fifth-busiest airport in Germany with 17.3 million passengers in 2019.
