Oslo's smallest bar? Got to love it though. It gets crowded, but some people like that. Obviously not a lot of choices for beer, but they have Frydenlund and usually good music.
This is a fun cafe. Good selection of beer, I like the food and the formica interior with hints of diner. You might want to avoid the breastfeeding hours (you'll notice all the babystrollers ouside).
Another old gem. Lovely interior. Lot of upmarked people (as in celebs etc). Good selection of beer, amazing onion soup.
A few meters from Bislett Stadium, is this lovely little cafe. They have a really good selection of beers, some which you may not find elsewhere (in Oslo). Watch people walk by. Drink Belgian beers.
Sort of a, modern rustique, kind of place. A fair amount of good beers to choose from, and from the looks, and smell, whopping big and tasty burgers. I will have to return and check it out.
Horgan's (named, if memory serves me right, after an old fur boutique) was Oslo's first American Sports-bar, before TGI arrived. Pricey, but good burgers and fine people watching.
Katedralen sports some good beer surprises, but seems content with the "older" beer customer, and they serve food. Chairs and interior is like an anglican church from a Hammer movie. Very cool
Oslo recently lost two of its heavy metal bars, but I stumbled across this one the other night. A few bottled crafts and Brooklyn on tap, it's a bit expensive for this type of place.
A hangout in Oslo's more expensive neighborhood. You won't think so on the inside. Very reasonable beer prices, customers are in their 40s and up and seem to be there all the time.
An odd place, in a backyardflat. Fun, young, with some strange decor. Still a few airplane seats left, and there are old comics to read. Quite cheap and good quiznights!
A grand old place east in central Oslo. Was a run down dive, now it's a diamond surrounded by browncoal. Lovely interiour, great, I mean, great selection of beers from all over. Fine food as well.
I discovered The Pub in April, 2015. They have gone for the UK look, bartenders in white shirts and bowlerhats, very big screens for football, so not a hipster hangout. Fine selection of craft beers.
Not a good selection of beer, smells a bit, dark and the toilets aren't very nice. But you end up enjoying it in good company. Quite cheap lager. Some good talent show up on open mic night.
Another dinertype place in Grünerløkka. 50's 60's styled. A very welcoming 3 beers for 100 at certain times, and a very good hangover burger on a Sunday, unpleasant bouncers at night I've been told.
This place isn't really "me", but I go here sometimes, because it lies in a neighborhood I rarely visit. Cramped, good looking and the backyard is sort of epic.
English sports on tv, cheapish lager in an expensive erea. They have one or two Brewdogs, but if you are squeamish about the way the bartender violently pours your beer into the wrong glass, avoid!
