- EaterEnero 6, 2014Pristine omakase is the name of the game at this tiny sushi spot, which boasts the talents of longtime local great Masaki Sasaki. Expect a Japanese-style sushi experience at Japanese-style prices.
- Winson WongFebrero 5, 2015The omakase here is amazing. Mix of sushi, soup, salad, hot food and dessert, it's really authentic. Service is attentive and professional. Sushi is really fresh and tasty. Just the way it should be.
- Shoko YanagisawaNoviembre 3, 2013Real authentic sushi place. I'm Japanese and felt at home. Great service and perfect sushi! Not all tables are reservable through OpenTable. Call the restaurant for more options.
- Ashley MowreyJulio 5, 2015I came here the week they opened and they had their original sushi chefs. With those chefs this place was magic. I went recently & w/ the new chefs, the ambiance is different and quality has waned.
- Christina Melas-KyriaziJunio 18, 2016Omakase was great w fresh fish. It was the closest meal I've had to eating in Japan. felt traditional and very good. Green tea tiramisu was good but almost savory- tasted like cream cheese + matcha
- Amanda SAgosto 7, 2014Officially my fave sushi joint in SF. Beats out Yasuda and rivals Nakazawa and Sasabune in NYC, omakase-speaking. Get the Masa Hide Omakase and indulge.
- Omer ZachJulio 30, 2014The nigiri was definitely the highlight of the $85 omakase, so it seems like the $40 sushi course might be a better deal. You can't go wrong either way though.
- Holger LüdorfNoviembre 9, 2013Sit at the bar and do the sushi/sashimi Omakase. I think it now serves the best sushi in town. Also, the oyster stout is nice!
- Jennifer YipOctubre 16, 2014the maruya omakase comes with hot dishes, soup, sashimi, and nigiri. good variety if that's what you're looking for. this place is also run by japanese hosts, waiters, and chefs!
- Do yourself a favor, sit at the bar and let them drive. The food is top notch and they offer a proper, elevated sushi experience I've yet to find anywhere else in San Francisco.
- Chefs omakase is mindblowing. An experience I will never forget. Just the right balance of whimsy and craftsmanship. Was empty when we sat down at 530. Excellent service.
- ChristianaDiciembre 12, 2018Everything here is amazing. Omikaze, sashimi set, sake and service! Had an a perfect dinner date.
- Sherry LiMarzo 10, 2014Sit at the bar, duh. Must haves: uni, live botan ebi, gindara, toro, shiro ebi.
- AnnaOctubre 12, 2015My first sushi restaurant in SF, so I can't judge but having had sushi in Asia I must say Maruya is very very good, but quite forgettable. Slow service.
- Randall DaviesMayo 6, 2014Incredible. Taste, presentation, service and attention to detail. Sit at the bar for sure and appreciate how pure this place is!
- Lauren HOctubre 27, 2013one of the best sushi meals I've had in SF. enjoyed masa's course though next time I'd do all nigiri
- Grace ChenEnero 11, 2014The chef preorders the fish from the Tsukiji market in Tokyo. It's like I'm in Japan again with a hot towel and tea.
- Joe IulianoMarzo 26, 2014Amazing selection of exotic fish straight from the Tsukuji fish market. A must for sushi connoisseurs
- Omakase. Honestly, if you think this is anything other than sublime sushi you should just stick to the Whole Foods sushi counter.
- Randall DaviesNoviembre 5, 2013Now my favorite sushi bar in San Francisco. Chef Masa-San could be a disciple of Jiro...
- Julie NavarroMarzo 5, 2016Prenez le menu dégustation. Le serveur vous racontera tout ce qu'il contient et plus.
- Matt Van HornNoviembre 3, 2013Get the Masa's corse. At the end ask for a toro nigiri to end the night. Bliss.
- KidhackAbril 16, 2016Came here for Valentine's Day and a majority of the omakase focused on micro bite appetizers where were mostly boring. Fish that proceeded it was just ok.
- cindy hoJulio 16, 2017If you just want sushi, don't come here. Overly complicated omakase full of okay side dishes that don't interest presented too preciously. I prefer omakase to be mostly fish. Not worth the price.
- Omer ZachJunio 19, 2015Prices are way way way up since 2014. You're not leaving here without spending over $100.
