When leaving the car rental lot the concrete messes with the gps and everyone gets on the road and has to slow down or stop before the first intersection to wait for the satellites to catch up. :-)
If you are cruising or leaving in the evening, the hotel by E concourse has a day rate from 10-6p. Worth every penny. Quiet, comfy beds, dark and chill.
If traveling during American holidays give yourself at least 2 hours minimum, safer bet is 2.5 hours! American Airlines terminal is the best! So much variety you’ll never be bored!
Nice Airport. TSA PRE lane on terminal D took just 3 minutes to get thru. Cafe Versailles is Da Bomb! Order a Medianoche and Cafecito anytime, can't miss. The American Express Centurion Lounge...
Want a quick cafe con leche, pastelito to go b4 u board? Cuban cafe - creatively spelled "KU-VA" is just what your tastebuds are asking for. Buen Provecho! Enjoy!
One of the best airports I’ve visited lots of good places to eat especially the Caribbean restaurant with the crab soup. Stay away from the empanada store food sucks
Getting into the city of Miami from the airport is cheap... and you can be at the beach in less than 30 minutes! As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.
If u are travelling internationally and u get a tsa pre check pass for ur connecting flight u might want to eye the line as the non pre check might be faster in this airportzoo...
If you're flying out of Concourse D (and have time to kill) go to the end of the terminal btwn gates 1-24 for a fantastic selection of shopping & food. Ice Box Cafe is a MUST, especially the breakfast
Entertain yourself on the moving walkway with a bouncy playground surface. You'll need it during the hike from the terminals to the rental car or metro rail building.
only airport in the states that has decent food. Off to la Carreta. If you've never had it, order medianoche, sandwichcubano, pan con bistek, madurosfritos, tostones, croquetas, congris (moros y cr
And please, people, travel light with the carryons, hv slip off shoes, don't wear belts or jewelry, put it all on AFTER you go thru TSA... don't people know this yet!?!?!?!? Need line for peepslikeme!
Friendly staff in immigration. Free wifi, turn your step monitor or RunKeeper on if you're going to get rental car... You'll add tons to your steps.... I promise!
Count on delays, hold ups and your having to move from furthest gate to another. If you have to transit (to go central and Latin American, many of you probably do) make sure to factor that time in
If you have a visa waiver - go to the machines at the right hand side. You just need your passport and the machine recognised you. The queue there is much shorter!!
Check prices from Fort Lauderdale if you're flying nationally, FLL is usually way cheaper!! And just 23 dolar share ride away (and the shared rides from there are allways almost empty!!)
Welcome to Miami! Are you making a stop in Coral Gables? Make sure to check us out at www.gablesmavens.com for neighborhood tips and information. Enjoy your stay.
Landing at Terminal D especially with international flights, there is a lot of walking, lines, people, checkpoints, & security AGAIN (as if you went to some place in between your last airport and MIA)
Sign up for TSA pre screening on your airline website. There is never a line, I don't have to take off shoes or remove the laptop. It saves me easily 20 minutes waiting in line for regular screening.
AA’s PreCheck only lane always gets me through in under 10 minutes. Otherwise, concourse E is the fastest line. Avoid concourse D lines, they’re always the longest.
When you get to baggage claim, go straight outside and grab a free Smartecart and save yourself 5 bucks. People that get taxis, Supershuttle, or picked up, leave them on the curb.
If you're a divorce lawyer, you should DEFINITELY call your clients and pace the gate area while you yell into the phone that they've "given her too much already." It will be fun for everyone.
Arrive there on time! Is a very big airport. Depending the terminal you are in, shopping and restaurant options may be very limited (concourse F for example) eat before or come prepare for a tiny pizz
If you have a long layover, the #150 metrobus leaves from the airport and takes you to South Beach in 30 min. Leave extra time coming back in case there is traffic!!
