- EaterOctubre 4, 2011It's worth the wait for a bowl of the Taiwanese-style ramen that includes varieties like curry chicken and kimchi. Dumplings here are also well worth a try. [Eater 38 Member]
- AFAR MediaAgosto 4, 2014The food is hearty, fresh, and simple, with generous amounts of ramen. Choose from five types of ramen bowls as well as five dumpling flavors and a variety of Asian-style cocktails, beers, and sake. Leer más
- Tarah FeinbergDiciembre 28, 2013Excellent ramen. Not Ippudo (what is?), but tried all of them, except the vegetarian, and they were all delicious. This is the kimchi (it's got a kick) and the curry chicken was really tasty too.
- Derek FromsonMarzo 13, 2013Taiwanese-Japanese fusion at its best, despite long wait. Start w/seafood dumplings; then get a ramen (spicy kimchee is great); add sides of pork belly and srirocha sauce. Don't forget cold sake.
- Aaron DAgosto 7, 2014Pan seared dumplings are a good 'in-between' choice if you don't want to go with the deep fried, or steamed options. If you like your ramen with some kick, be sure to get a side of endorphin sauce.
- Lisa FinnFebrero 28, 2015The vegetarian ramen is so hearty, even carnivores wouldn't miss the meat! End your meal with the salty-sweet fresh baked cookies with miso, and don't forget to buy a round for the kitchen.
- It's ALL amazing. I often pace myself on broth, then order kaedama (extra noodles) to go for an extra meal. Save room for the cookies!
- Megan LillyAgosto 6, 2019Best ramen in the DC-area! Featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," this hole-in-the-wall spot is not to be missed! Toki can get busy, so make a reservation ahead of time. I recommend the Red Miso!
- JenniMarzo 19, 2015Red miso and their steamed fried chicken buns are amazing. My friend got a cocktail (alt-f5) which was also delicious. Make a reservation...much easier than waiting an hour in line!
- Tourist Tip: Love the Classic and the Kimchi. The egg is always perfectly creamy dreamy. Extra Noodle. Chicken Butt or Pork Cheek add on. Seriously. buttcheek FTW.
- Arik MorrisAgosto 11, 2017The field chicken steamed buns are a must. Perfectly crisp with a touch of sweetness and heat, in a soft pillowy bun they are amazing.
- Chefs FeedDiciembre 3, 2015"Sometimes you just have to have ramen, and while DC has a lot of nice ramen shops, I just can’t get by the broth at Toki. It’s perfect." Chef Frederik De Pue Leer más
- EpicuriousAbril 24, 2015Food is half the fun here. The chef designed his stool-only, wood-ribbed space to suggest an Old World noodle shop, and the bartenders are just as deft as the chefs hovering over the steaming pots. Leer más
- Spoon UniversityOctubre 18, 2016Toki Underground takes you out of your comfort zone and serves up innovative ramen with two of its most popular being their Taipei curry style and a kimchi style. Leer más
- Audrey AEnero 25, 2013EXCELLENT ramen! Split a bowl of the Toki Classic & veggie dumplings w/ a friend. TOTALLY worth the wait! Put your name on the list and explore H Street (eg-Atlas Arcade or Playhouse) while you wait.
- Renata lEnero 3, 2017I love Toki! The food is always good but my favorite is the cool environment. Ask for hot Sake. Be ready to wait to be seated. Weekdays are less busy
- Nicolas PrattJulio 17, 2013The best Ramen ever. EVER. Try the pork bellies. Also very tiny. Wait times upwards of an hour or two. Be prepared to have a drink downstairs at the Pug. They call/text when your table is ready
- Ryan KoAgosto 19, 2012try the red miso chocolate chip cookies with milk for dessert -- after you get a tasty bowl of ramen with pork lion add-on. make sure to try a Taiwanese soft drink (sidra, calpico, etc.)
- Sierra BarkdollMarzo 30, 2016Kimchi ramen, red miso ramen, choc. Chip cookies. Right near the popeyes. Hard to find so look for a door with a symbol and the words "Toki Underground" then go in and up the steps
- Katy ThomasAbril 3, 2013Outstanding ramen...I went with the Toki Classic and was very pleased. Friend got the vegetarian - cool earthy broth with lots of veg - but then added pork cheek...pretty awesome
- Hillary HartleyAgosto 9, 2014Holy shit. Everything is so good – the ramen, the house made cocktails. Be sure to try the pork, and if you like it spicy the fire sauce is amazeballs.
- Ryan KDiciembre 29, 2014Love love love this place! Hard to find but well worth the exploration. CALL ahead is a MUST. There is always a wait and once again well worth it.
- Aleksandra ArcipowskaEnero 11, 2018Great food, but overall i didnt enjoy the experience. I had veggie dumplings & veggie ramen. Njam! This is not the place to eat out with friends, Music in this pub is loud, impossible to talk. Sad.
- Barbara KaplanJulio 12, 2015Classic ramen was de-lish. Ordered extra noodles and shared that way we could try a few appies. Cookies are served warm with milk and a great way to end the meal.
- Tammy GordonAbril 13, 2012Worth the wait! I like to order the tsukeman off the daily specials and load it up with add ons - especially the pork cheeks, sriaracha and egg! (And my favorite seat is in front of the chef, natch!)
- Went around 2pm on a Monday and had no wait. Pickle plate, dumplings (get them steamed), Taipei curry chicken, and kimchi were all outstanding.
- AlexDiciembre 1, 2017you can’t go wrong with any of their ramen. the tsukemen is so good if they have it
- Danielle DaSilvaJulio 13, 2018Very tiny, so be prepared for a long wait. Grab a drink at Copycat Co while you wait. Toki's kimchi ramen is one of my top ten favorite dishes. Anywhere. Ever.
- Ana Marie 💃Mayo 4, 2015My favorite ramen in DC. The steamed buns are awesome and the warm chocolate chip cookies with miso dipping sauce cannot be missed.
- Washingtonian MagazineOctubre 21, 2011Two people can make a meal from one big bowl of ramen (all five varieties are $10 each) and an order of dumplings (six for $5), which means a Cheap Eats budget can include cocktails.
- Tarah FeinbergDiciembre 28, 2013Delicious ramen and a cool vibe, but be aware that it's very small, pretty noisy and you'll be seated bar style, side-by-side. Just be prepared for that scene.
- Audrey ADiciembre 28, 2012get here at 500 to get a seat or put your name on the list. orherwise you may wait for 2+ hours and you'll have to clear your schedule in order to enjoy these delicious noodles!
- There is ALWAYS a wait here but you can have a drink at The Pug while you wait. They share a license so you can bring your drinks upstairs. Get the Hakata Classic (kae dama!) and pan fried dumplings.

- BeaAgosto 14, 2013Ordered kimchi, red miso and pork dumplings and each was delicious. Pickles are nothing special and fades when you are served the best ramen in the city!
- The classic ramen with homemade sriracha sauce is a dream. Don't hesitate to order a side of kimchi and an Ice Dome sake to top it off.
- I've had the fried prawn heads and "chicken butts" as add-ons, both were AMAZING. Good rule of thumb with Toki: If it sounds like you won't like it, you'll LOVE it!
- Ivan AbreuMarzo 13, 2016Red miso! This dish will leave you satisfied! Adding an extra egg and some pork belly and get ready to be blown away.
- Nicole BinuyaAbril 25, 2019Cool atmosphere 😎 feels exclusive in its limited space and long wait. But there's better ramen out there if you're looking for authenticity instead of different flavor "infusions" to the same broth.
- Andrew NewhartJunio 25, 2012Best ramen I've ever had. Been here 3 times and each visit was great. Always a long wait, but you can leave and explore H St. and they will text you when your table is ready.
- If you're a little burnt out on ramen, try the chicken Dan Mien - boneless chunks of fried chicken on peanut sauced Dan Dan-style noodles

- Jean-Louis NtangMarzo 20, 2015Toki monster + Toki classic is a good combo. Go for the Taiwan if you don't feel like hard liquor with your ramen.
