This was the first Starbucks in Portland. Before Pioneer Square was there, it was a 2-level parkinggarage, seen here in this 1974 photo, taken from the 2nd floor over Margulis Jewelers.
The Portland Hotel under construction, 1889. This is the west side of the building. Today Starbucks sits on that left (northwest) corner. The fenced area is now the Nordstrom building's block.
The parkinggarage occupied the P. Square site from from 1952 till the late 70s. From 1891 - 1951 the glorious 326-room Portland Hotel stood on the site. (See the B&W photo)
