Ristinkirkko was one of the final designs Alvar Aalto completed in his lifetime. The church's construction was completed in 1978, two years after his passing. Home of Lahti Organ music festival.
A lovely bakery cafe that has been around since the 1950s. Named after the lead character in Mika Waltari's historical novel The Egyptian, but also known as the 'aquarium' by locals.

In the summer, the landing area transforms into a public pool and it's possible to visit the tower for a fantastic view of the entire city.
Taivaanranta could be called "Nordic bistro" - really nice original nordic food with relaxed atmosphere. An they do have their own single malt...
The brunch is good! Pretty breakfast-focused though. The locally baked bread and toasted oats etc are yummy.
