- Thomas RibereauAbril 19, 2012Take some chicken buns and fried yellowtail as apetizers, and the classic ramen Akamaru Modern with the pork supplement, it's awesome!
- Fries are excellent, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
- Gail HSeptiembre 12, 2012Competitor to momofuku but I love the Akamaru Modern ramen. On a rainy day, what could be better? All about the ramen here.
- Scott BFebrero 20, 2014The "modern" ramen with seasoned egg was fantastic, best ramen I've had in years. Worth a try!
- Shirley ZhuJunio 11, 2016The pork bun is delicious! Ramen is great but the gin-sake cocktails are just so-so
- Amanda PonzoJulio 5, 2013Went around 11:30am and we barely got in! Delicious ramen and incredibly friendly service. Points for playing Daft Punk the entire time we were there.
- I've been to Ippudo 20x and finally had my first special, the szeshuan tan tan. Oh my. All other times: akamaru modern kikuni style with egg. Several kaidame. Always a winner. Oishi desu!

- Joshua HaftelFebrero 2, 2016Their drum heart special is great, black sesame tonkotsu with rayu, cilantro, and lime. Noodles were meh though :/
- Jeff HOctubre 27, 2013Pork bun is ridiculously good. Salad dressing (wasabi based) is insanely good. Communal seating, great ambiance.
- Samson NgAgosto 9, 2013It's always just as good as the last time I came here! You can't go wrong with the Akamaru Ramen with the pork belly.
- Ben YoungOctubre 18, 2014Best ramen ever. We normally grab the edamame, pork buns and the Akamura Modern. Delicious!
- I loved the ramen but mostly because they weren't as strong and rich compared to the Ramen in Tokyo
- Becca BaeNoviembre 9, 2015Delicious noodles and surprisingly good sake cocktails. Expect a wait of 45+ minutes on any given night.
- Best pork buns in the game and the classic ramen is out of this world.
- George LeeEnero 15, 2016Tried the Chicken stock this time. Pork broths still pack some extra flavor here.
- The pork buns are the best in New York. And somehow the veggie buns are even better.
- i love the ramen here but my favorite thing to get is the spicy cod roe over rice off the lunch menu!
- Still consistently one of my favorite ramen joints. Akamaru Modern is a classic.
- Melissa RosenfieldMarzo 29, 2015It's worth the wait which usually goes fast. Their classic ramen isn't salty which is perfect.
- Matt RaibertAgosto 20, 2011I think the classic ramen is the way to go. With added pork belly if you like. I like to have the Karashi Takana on the side.
- Marlon BOctubre 1, 2015Awesome ramen experience. If you are in the East Village this is the place to be.
- AaronMayo 11, 2013Tip: If you ask for vinegar, the staff will bring you a saucer of vinegar. Recommended. But to reach this stage you must have waited for an hour +.
- Ryan AmbsFebrero 20, 2016Maguro tartar, octopus, buns, and wings. Solid ramen but I prefer the thicker noodles.
- Worth the wait. Akamaru Modern ramen is some of the best I've ever eaten. Creamy, rich, umami.
- Bhavana RanaEnero 20, 2020Step 1: order the pork buns | Step2: get a second order of pork bun | Step 3: repeat steps 1 and 2
- Pursarth TuladharOctubre 8, 2013The best ramen I've had in all of USA. Be prepared to wait if you are going here for dinner. The lunch wait is not so bad.

- Alan YouAgosto 10, 2014If you get to the bottom of your bowl and are still hungry, get an order of kae-dama (extra noodles) for just $2.00.
- New York HabitatNoviembre 10, 2011Casual Japanese spot in the East Village, we love the pork buns but you can't go wrong with the ramen either.

- Rishad TobaccowalaNoviembre 16, 2014Chicken hirata buns are great starters and then Karaka Men noodles. With lots of draft beer.
- Jesse RoehrichMarzo 25, 2012Had the miso ramen and pork buns--both were delicious! I'd definetely recommend it, although it's a little pricey for ramen.
- Generous shrimp dishes as a come-on at the opening, quickly deleted from menu in favor of shrimp bits...Enough p ork broth, to give you a heart attack at 50. 150 Ippudo locations in Tokyo, 1 in NYC ..
- Bin YangJulio 16, 2012Possibly the best ramen in NYC but personally, I can't stand the lines. Great ramen and fantastic pork buns.
- Jenny ParkNoviembre 19, 2010I think it's overrated: the bone broth is too heavy and over-seasoned. I must say the chicken and pork buns are delish. The chicken wings are WOW esp. paired with cabbage, it's a perfect marriage
- Rob HDiciembre 4, 2014You can go in around 4 and make a sorta reservation for later that night. Cuts down hugely on wait. Go to black and white if you have long wait.
