- Amanda 🦄 AcevedoEnero 24, 2014Parking is pricey but covered and convenient. Coal mine and U505 submarine exhibits are standouts. Idea City great for young kids/infants for interactive displays. Museum improvements are very nice!
- Carrie PAbril 21, 2014Lots of fun lots to do..... Separate seating around so you can eat snacks and drinks you bring from home. You just can't bring your food in to the food court area and eat.
- Sherri Dill-AdamsMayo 4, 2013Definitely a great experience with your children! Food court is quite high so bringing lunches if you can would be ideal! The staff is super friendly and helpful.....minus one grumpy security guard!
- Colin DuRantEnero 24, 2017Great museum for kids and adults. Tons to see and do. Some of the exhibits are showing their age, but all-in-all it's a good way to spend a day.
- Bee N.Junio 14, 2015Every single time I'm in Chicago, I try to visit this museum. It's my favorite place to go here; I adore all the exhibits, plus it's totally kid (and family) friendly.
- Everything! The trains, the planes, the Storms room, the submarine, the coal mine, the space exhibit, the YOU Experience, the baby chicks, even the food court!
- Tabatha GroverSeptiembre 27, 2014The coal mine exhibit is a favorite permanent exhibit along with YOU! The Experience, very interactive. The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archieve exhibit that is there right now is rly cool also!
- Sabrina LisboaOctubre 25, 2015Muito bom! Reserve o dia, pois é enorme! Infelizmente não deu para ver tudo em uma única visita...Tem um submarino inteiro capturado dos nazistas durante a guerra.
- Sharlene WrightJulio 23, 2013Easily spend an entire day At this impressive science museum. Enjoyed everything including the coal mine and UBoat exhibits. And just about everything works unlike the Field museum.
- Christina C.Diciembre 29, 2012Great for families. Get tix online for a discount & so you don't have to stand in their long line. Take a discovery class. We took the dissect a cow's eye. Super fun but not for the faint of heart.
- Dustin HaleyAbril 5, 2016Awesome time here! The brick by brick exhibit was fantastic. By tickets to limited time exhibits online or it might be sold out.
- Marcel EJulio 19, 2015This is one of my favorite museums I have ever visited. It is very interactive. You will spend the entire day here but it is totally worth it.
- AFAR MediaAgosto 4, 2014The Great Train Story currently runs 30 trains at a time, more than enough for everyone to create their own unique tale while visiting. Leer más
- Damon SununtnasukEnero 29, 2017Incredible museum. Well curated with a thoughtful flow and amazing exhibits. The U-505 exhibit was the highlight. Allow at least 4 hours
- Jake SmithFebrero 23, 2013"Yesterday's Main Street" has a Nickelodeon that plays silent movies on a loop. This is a great place for adults to sit and relax for a moment, there are hardly ever any kids at this exhibit.
- Mon BenMayo 1, 2013Best museum ever! Genetics room is a must. You have to pay extras for the submarine and coal mine, but I think it's worthy.
- Ricardo LucianoFebrero 6, 2015Must for all the engineers!! Tornado show is simply amazing!! For the show be prepared the D-Day is about 45mins, unless you like history choose the other one!
- If you grab lunch in the Brain Food Court, sit at a table outside by the escalators so you can enjoy the Tour of Switzerland. It is a large pinball exhibit. Fun to watch.
- Edwin ValentiEnero 8, 2020Must-visit when in Chicago. From the outside you might be somewhat impressed, but when you get inside you will be flabbergasted. Many themes like German U-boat, Airplanes, forces of nature & much more
- Daniel CrumJulio 2, 2017I feel like the Museum of Science & Industry could be cool, but I didn't have a good experience personally -- too many kids. Go during the school year, preferably during the school week.
- My personal favorite museum in Chicago. With over 2,000 exhibits, it is the largest science museum in the western hemisphere. Must visit: the German U-boat, and the model railroad.
- Stefanie ReevesJunio 10, 2013If you're active duty military, you and your companion can visit for free! Check out the flight simulator and don't forget to get some ice cream before you leave.
- Tabatha GroverSeptiembre 30, 2014Got the CityPass & is a great deal! Admission to Shedd's, Adler's or Art Museum, Field Museum, SkyDeck, Museum of Science & Industry or Chicago 360 for $92!! Get quick entry for most also!!
- U505 is always good. I really like the fairy castle. The chicks are always fun when they hatch.
- Brandon SullivanFebrero 16, 2013Beats all other Chi museums. 50% interesting artifacts & knowledge sharing, 50% interactive learning & tinkering. Covers dozen of topics, turning your "spend an afternoon" into "spend the whole day"
- Kevin DulinAgosto 11, 2014Get tickets for the Coal Mine as it's super cool! But be quick, as it sells out early. The Boeing 727 is also very awesome.
- Pack a lunch and allow for breaks in between! There's plenty of spots to charge your gadgets. ;-) The coolest museum!
- Ian RodriguezAbril 25, 2012Allocate enough time to see everything that you want to. There's a lot of awesomeness to be seen, so make sure you can see as much of it as possible. Might need to take the whole day!
- Belit RodriguezDiciembre 1, 2017It takes waaay more than a day to visit. The storms exhibit was my favourite. The garden is not open on winter :(
- Mike RobinsonJunio 12, 2013This is incredible. You could probably spend all day here and not see everything. And the Brain Food Court is awesome. Must see if you're in Chicago.
- Derek EskensOctubre 26, 2015Go to the mirror maze early in the morning before the mirrors get smudged. Remember, if you get lost, just keep turning left. And be sure to find the hidden room inside.
- nemo sergesFebrero 22, 2017Always a great time! All of the exhibits are fun and educational and plenty of them are interactive. Fun at any age.
- Kelvin ChangJunio 22, 2015Definitely check out the U-Boat exhibition! It's even worth the price to buy the tour so you can take a look inside the submarine!
- Ganula BorgilchuluunMarzo 23, 2016Take a little trip to South, you will find yourself in the amazing Museum of Science and Industry, whoever goes there discovers something, you will never get bored there.
- United Federation StarfleetAgosto 16, 2011Great interactive museum that'll take you back in time, and allow you to see the future! Don't miss the U-505, Take Flight, and the Henry Crown Space Center with the Apollo 8 capsule!
- Jo Ann Flores-DeterDiciembre 29, 2012Only museum I've seen in Chicago that has such a great play area for children + nursing station just like home
- Ian SmithdahlMayo 5, 2014Park in the park district lot around back, between the museum and the lake. It's $10 -- not cheap, but cheaper than $20 in the museum lot.
- carmelle gossAbril 23, 2015All the features are very good, but the cost is very expensive, especially when you have more than one child. There should be more discounts, so that people with a certain income can take their kids.
- Eva MclAbril 19, 2013Only own til 4pm done sure to get in early. Lots to see and do, with experiments happening at specific times. Unfortunatly lots of schools too
- Steven ParkerFebrero 3, 2016Loved it as child but now not so much. Science Storms & model train are great but rest very juvenile. Don't go Fri AM: Field trips are WILD!
- Joanna PoeJunio 4, 2023Nice exhibits, but man, is this place pricey. U-505 is especially rushed and not so much a tour as a dramatized walkthrough with mood lighting. Might be disappointed if you've been on other subs.
- Iryna VistovskaSeptiembre 16, 2014Had THE BEST time in MSI, great not only for kids but for adults as well.
- Amy RobertsonMayo 15, 2016Plan on a full day! Filled with hands on fun for kids and adults--buy an omnimax ticket to rest your feet and have a feast for your eyes
- GinaDiciembre 30, 2016Wonderfully interactive exhibits for all ages. Even the Jollyball can keep us occupied for ages.
- Ben MorrowAgosto 3, 2015Massive museum. Give yourself plenty of time. The injection-molded plastic souvenirs in each area are unique and fun.
- Catriona HunterNoviembre 21, 2013Special exhibit tickets sell out. So get there early if you really want to see something. If you are in a group, book your tickets together to ensure you get the same timeslot.
- Benjamin de la FuenteAgosto 8, 2014After all these years, this place continues to get better and better. No childhood is complete without a visit here. The built-out section for the German U-Boat is breathtaking and moving.
- Simon & Schuster ManagerAgosto 24, 2011Building that housed the original Field Museum, before it moved to its current location; also close to the World’s Fair of 1893. Featured in the novel BRIGHT AND DISTANT SHORES. http://bit.ly/oM5tmC
