Shoes and belts off, laptop out BEFORE you reach the security conveyer belt. You're already waiting in line, just do it already!

Try the green corn chicken tamales at El Bravo, they are great!
If you aren't checking a bag on Southwest go straight to security and use self serve terminals there rather than the crazy ones downstairs
This is the only airport in the US that I have been too that has airplane pattern carpet. How funny!

Lindsay CarruthersMarzo 8, 2011If you arrive later at night into terminal 4, pack running shoes! They close all but one baggage claim so it can be quite a hike from B gate.
The only airport I've ever made check-in to gate in ten minutes, plus free WiFi. Best. Airport. Ever.

Hitting Terminal 4 D-gates? There's a giant window near D7 where you can watch the planes take off. You might also spot some birds flying around inside.
Check out Barfly terminal 4 us airways concourse. BEST Airport food hands down!!! In gates A1-A14
They have the best smelling airport soap in the restrooms. Wash up, friends!!
If you're driving, makes sure to park in your terminal. Each terminal has its own parking area.
Allow a HUGE amount of time to get a rental car and to get back to the terminal after dropping it off! Slowest I have ever seen!

InfamousTonyJDiciembre 5, 2012It troubles me to be in a state with such bigoted state policies as Arizona---even if just to connect flights. I won't spend a dime while here and encourage others to do the same.
Rental car center is a good 15 mins from the airport terminal.
Jackelope in T3 makes a surprisingly good breakfast burrito. Ask for it with no meat.
Make sure you know what terminal your airline is housed. saves you time and energy from mistakes and having to use their bus system!

Picking up baggage takes for days in terminal 4 during peak times...

Ticketing, security, and the rental car drop all take longer than usual here. Arrive early, for srs!

If you're too lazy to walk, and too fat to get out of the way on the moving walkway, go get on one of those golf carts they have. This is not a pre-diabetic conveyor belt.

Is the Phoenix airport a congregation for the elderly? They need more TSA pre-check lines or "Business traveler" lines. For such a large city, this airport is not efficient by any means.
The most overcrowded airport in the US. A serious lack of decent food, charging outlets, and poor layout make this the bain of my travels when I have to transit through this airport.
The aroma of Cinnabuns wafted through Gate C, making for a pleasant aviation experience even when I was experiencing diarrhea from the Fox Sports Bar Breakfast.

If the security line at the C Gates is too long, you can go through security for the D Gates and still walk through to your C gate.
