- Pro tip: their bulk coffee (by the likes of four barrel, de la Paz, stumptown, etc) is a lot cheaper than buying in cafes.
- Spice section is the best I've seen.. berbere & harissa spice powders just arrived. Veggie section is loaded with fresh greens and a large variety of mushrooms.. organic grocery heaven!

- Great organic and local options, and their cheese shop is outstanding. Wish they carried local, organic meats. But all veggie here.
- This grocery store is worker owned and 99.8 percent vegetarian. The only meat you'll find here is their pet food and the animal rennet in some of their clearly marked cheeses.

- Parking can be a beast, but if you're looking for something more natural/healthier, they probably have it. Also, they're really great about bulk orders, just call and ask.

- There are always free samples at the olive bar and the cheese department. Sometimes there are free samples in front of the customer service desk and the freezer section.
- The various styles of kimchi in the fermented foods bulk bin aisle blow my mind.
- Best retail business opportunity in SF: open an ethical meat store next door to Rainbow, be guaranteed plenty of business from people sick of shuttling between Rainbow and Trader Joes or Bi-Rite.
