This is a great place to get on airplanes that take you away from Washington DC.

Unless you're a preferred flier don't think being a minimalist will get you through the security line any quicker.
Very pretty airport in the morning, with the sun coming in. (At least Terminal C is...)

Clearly, Foursquare suffers from glitches of moronic proportions! Keeps telling me my device thinks I am too far away when I am standing in the place!
Fares seem to be significantly cheaper for government travelers from DCA than at IAD or BWI. And TSA lines are short and Metro takes you there.

Andrea BelliAgosto 6, 2012If your flight is at gates 10-14, eat at the national grill, instead of stopping at Mc Donald- Short layover? Hop on the metro and visit the mall or downtown DC!
One of the best approach views you'll get if you come in over the city
So much more convenient than IAD. Oh and skip the Dunkin Donuts; they're terrible here.

I am astonished that it is not mandatory for all taxis to allow passengers to pay by credit card. It is 30 degrees out today and two cabs were allowed to refuse to take me. Change this rule!

KellyMarzo 2, 2014Have to wait several minutes to take the ghetto bus to get to your gate.. And more buses to some planes! No good food selections. Small and dumpy and very overcrowded! Long line to use restrooms.
Delta frequent flyers can get TSA-pre. Fast security without emptying your bags or taking off your shoes.
Ronald Reagan Airport...unless you are a Communist and then you can call it National.

The landings are hard and the takeoffs are fun but the convenience is hard to beat.

Joel ReedEnero 20, 2015Usually long lines, but outside security they have a few decent shops and eateries to kill some time.
Don't ever lay on the carpets in the B and C Terminals. The terminals are infested with field mice. They run around everywhere late in the evening. Probably where your laying now!
if you arrive early enough, one way to pass some time is to go through security in the wrong terminal.
For those without a Five Guys near home, try it here near gate 39-45

Kate SlagaJunio 23, 2013Going through security is total hit or miss. Sometimes it's 5 minutes from curb to gate, sometimes it's closer to an hour.
Cheapest breakfast: --pot belly. $3.50 for a big ass breakfast sandwich
Frontier Airlines check- in does not open until 0430! Even if you check-in online, there's no frontier staff to take your bag!!
Everything runs close to a schedule, lol
