For early am flights during the weekend get in the security line early. TSA hardly ever opens the Pre-check line on time.

The bar in the terminal with gates 35 and above is always packed. Grab a drink before you go to your terminal.

If you're flying US airways and won't check baggage, there a kiosks right next to the security checkpoint that are virtually always line free. Print your boarding pass there instead.

If you're riding metro from DC and flying US Airways sit in the rear of the train to be closest to the exit near US terminal. All other airlines towards the front

Always call it National Airport or DCA. Ronald Reagan fired all the traffic controllers there and yet the tools in Congress renamed it after him.

If you have to overnight here, you're screwed. They clear out terminal, meaning you're left to sleep on the concrete floor. Awesome.
DCA > IAD, and it’s not even close. Never had a bad experience at Reagan, and that’s saying something for an airport! TSA Pre-Check comes in handy here.
