Great new bar that stocks drinks from developing countries with all procedes going back to charities (in those countries). Cocktails aren't overly sophisticated, but still on the good side.
This bar is amazing. Feels like you've transported back in time to Old New York. It's above Cumulus up an unmarked very 70s looking stairwell. Just head up. The bar tapas are ones to write home about.
One of my favorite new finds. Looks like you've arrived at an apartment block; it's not marked, but there's often a mobile number stuck to a door to call. Amazing sake and Japanese Whisky.
Great drinks and food - one of the bigger bars (ie. not really a hidden pub) but really nice, specially with a bigger group.
A Jazz speakeasy. They have one in Sydney too, which I've heard is incredible, so if you're there check it out perhaps.
Iconic Melbourne restaurant for good reason. Best to stop in during the day (late lunchish time) as it just gets packed. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Next door to Movida, which is just as good. It's also down one of the best graffiti alleyways in Melbourne.
Hard to get into, but worth a wait. Downstairs has a great bar too - Gogo's. It's Asian infusion food, which I hate as a term, but love as a Chin Chin meal.
Also in Fitzroy and great small meals (and bigger ones). Very cute, small and art deco-ish. It's very new and getting pretty good reviews.
Beautiful old, gothic convent on the banks of the Yarra turned into a community farm and centre. Great little food places too. One of my favourite spots in Melbourne. Best visited on a weekend.
