Efficient no frills airport. Ideal for Southwest flights without nonstop service to SFO
A good part of the airport is under renovation (est. completion around late 2020), so expect most food places to either be gone or replaced.
matthew nakamuraJunio 12, 2010This airport has a great mom and pop burger joint called burger king. It's a little on the pricier side, but worth it! Ask for the whopper...TRUST ME.
FYI: there is a place for your dog to pee in the Oakland Airport...
Take a picture of the parking area sign where your car is located. For the wifi access through the airport on an iPhone, use Safari to accept the T&C and watch an ad.

Main advantage to OAK compared to SFO is fewer fog/flow control delays. Starbucks near gates 3 and 4 has fast service and seating with outlets.

Evan BrynneFebrero 2, 2015It's not the nicest airport, and it's not the most convenient to get to, but it totally makes up for it by almost never having lines at security.
So much easier to deal with than SFO and if your coming or going with jetBlue or united airlines there's a starbucks right after security check in.
Otaez restaurant in terminal 2 has the best deal on food! It was only $6.25 for super nachos that easily feed two people!
None of the baggage claim monitors are ever accurate in the @SouthwestAir baggage claim. Often they just show ads. My advice: Just listen to the announcements.

The JetBlue counter is the very first in Terminal 1. Plan accordingly if you're rolling deep or toting lots of luggage!
Jonno NortonDiciembre 7, 2011Oakland is the Bay Area's, Southwest Airlines hub. It is cheaper to fly SW from Oakland, and there are more flights available.
Fly Southwest they have the best terminal here with comfy seats and electrical outlets everywhere. Don't leave security if you have a long wait for your ride all the bars are behind security
Construction at the terminal ! The line for security is a mess. Get here at least two hours before your flight !
I've never heard of any one having a bag or anything stolen. I fly out of oak very frequently and I love it.
