Owen MartinEnero 20, 2011To get to BART take the AirBart shuttle at bus stop 3E. 3$ cash, exact change or a credit card machine that takes about 3 minutes to operate.

No matter what airline your fly, make sure you're at the gate 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure. Doors close 10 minutes prior to departure. Airplanes don't wait for you, YOU wait for airplanes.

They are re doing Terminal 1. It's an ugly mess. Maybe when it's done it will be nicer.
Baggage claim is a complete disaster, two monitors for each carrousel with just ads no flight info. Good luck finding your bag!

Vivian WuAgosto 23, 2011The airport traffic flow and signs have gotten a lot better. The on site parking entrances are consolidated now.
TSA aren't nice anymore.. Or they used to have nice people who allow late birds to at least go front of security check. Nope, not anymore. Missed my flight, now here just waiting, all alone... :(
Try the Firewood Cafe breakfast scramble. (unless of course if you don't like eggs .....
The food situation is currently abysmal due to renovations.
Pretty small airport. There is only one main security line...recommend at least 1.5 hours at the least to check in (w/o no checked bags)
This airport is freezing every time i come. I'm wearing snow boots, a knit scarf, a thermal, and a hoodie, but I'm so cold!!

Off airport parking at Park 'n' Travel is the easiest.
QuikPark is the best. Book online for $6 a day. Cheeeeap.
Food court in T2 is closed for some of 2019.
flying SWA with bags? print your boarding pass near the entrance by security then hop in the express baggage drop off. save yourself the time and stress.

What did the oakland shoreline look like before it was filled in? The educational signs are actually quite interesting.

- Starbucks at Gate 22 opens at 5am! Be 1st in line to get fully caffeinated!
The brick oven pizza near gate 24 is great....quick too!
