Since the refurbrishment started, the whole airport is dark, overcrowded and has lack of seats. Hope it ends soon.
Good No. 1 Traveller Lounge but be careful as enormous challenge if your plane's gate isn't in that part of the airport
Be warned! The transit is one way. If you get to the wrong one the only way back is by official rescue vehicle... If your not sure of your gate then use the lounge by gate 74!

Nathalie De ClercqSeptiembre 21, 2013Easyjet and some other low cost airlines are allowed to 'push off early'... Up to fifteen minutes BEFORE the official take off time. Ridiculous. Get there early.- There are two No 1 lounges at Stansted. One by gate 74 which is a good 15 min walk from the main terminal and one at satellite 1 for gates 11 through 19. The second is much nicer.

Don knock Stansted. Travel weekly from here and compared to Heathrow it is easily the best London airport. Although if anyone works in border control can you sort that out as it manned by numskulls

After leaving the train go the e-passport checking row it might be faster than the regular ID control.
The departure check in is horrendous. Forget the sign pay give pounds for express check in and breeze right through the line of staff
Laura ComanJunio 13, 2014Avoid this airport if you can. So busy with no room to move or to find a seat. Speedy through security but the departures area needs way more room for the amount of people flooding through.
This place looks like a post-apocalyptic refugee centre with absolutely no place to sit or sleep, poor restaurant choices and no sockets or wi-fi for public!Beware the gates of RyanAir hell lay here!
The security people are really into the liquids-inda-plastic-bag thing so if you forgot your toothpaste in your suitcase prepare to waste 20'.

Over crowded airport. The ladies toilet is misplaced right next to arrival, it is dirty and not modern. Not suitable for elderly people or people with temper. Uncomfortable benches.
One day Stansted will be an airport of the 1st world and we will have a way to keep in transit inside Schengen space!!
