Wonderful short loop trail in amongst an old grove of great green cypress trees. Nice views looking back to Carmel from the cliffs as the surf crashes beneath you.
Beach is a bit out of the way but it’s a huge empty swath of sand to make your own and play on. Cool big dunes as well.
Quaint little oasis in Carmel. Walk the Doolittle Trail for the most varied terrain and flora.
Great seafood. The rockfish and smoked trout are stellar. Great takeout options as well.
Nice long beach to run on and check out the tide pools. Gets really crowded in late afternoons.
Cioppino is very filling and is loaded with good seafood. Just be aware that they don’t have a lot of what is listed on their website.
Good place to see sea otters and seals. Best viewing is at the end of the road at the channel opening to the ocean. Love the Sea Otter crossing sign.
Good fish and chips, local sand dabs and truly tasty salmon. Great seafood market.
Just park on the street for access to the coast plus a great trail with awesome views and light around sunset.
Stupidly cool house in the best possible location. You can see it best from down on the beach.
Cute little subterranean seafood restaurant with great atmosphere. The tuna and yin/yang salmon are good choices.
An amazing place. The friendliest and most helpful staff will help you find exactly what you are looking for. Fantastic selection of small local vintners. Kent the owner has great taste.
Great beach - perfect for kids to swim in the river and catch little fish. Awesome to be floating with pelicans. Nice hike and views from the meadows on the far side.
Beautiful mission with a good museum that documents the history of the peninsula. Just wish they went into the native enslavement a bit more.
The Nantucket of the West Coast. Stunning beaches, gorgeous homes, good food. I just wish it was a bit more diverse. A lovely place to walk and get lost in the morning fog among the cypress trees.
Really large garden that features mostly native plants. A good place to wander away the morning before it gets too hot.
Cute little old lighthouse and Victorian buildings. Cool place to explore and worth the hot walk from the parking lot.
Nice little state park with some pretty amazing surf crashing on the headlands. A great place to walk when the waves are big.
Good place to stock up on local drought tolerant plants for your SoCal yard.
