Easy and friendly place to launch from for some great snorkeling. Low key but helpful staff. Call ahead. Only thing that sucks is parking and lots of break-ins.
Great coffee place, the ube latte is crazy stupid good. Great staff, only downside is when you order online, they still have to make it when you get there.
The place for sunset. Put your name in for waterside early and take a walk, it’s worth it. Casual and fun, the furikake catch is good along with cocktails and the Mauna Kea ice cream pie is obscene.
This is a great hole in the wall place with guy busting food. The garlic furikake chicken is killer as is the kalua pork. Call in an order and go eat lunch at the beach
Amazing place, you swim with sea turtles in a historic fishpond next to an ancient temple. Snorkeling isn’t great but it’s an awesome place for kids.
Nice little local market with tons of interesting fruits and pastries/bread to check out. Worth stopping at if you are in town on Saturday mornings.
Great wine store with lots of local spirits and beer. Great place to load up if renting a house. Order online for pick up, but do a day or two in advance although the website doesn’t say this.
Amazing park, with a great beach where you can swim with turtles in an ancient fishpond. Awesome for kids. Park by the harbor for the beach,so you skip the hot trail then walk back to the petroglyphs.
Great location close to the water and love the outdoor seating. Blacked fresh catch sandwich is great as is the cocktails. Perfect first stop after you land on the island.
Great place for young kids to play and explore. Much to do but wear a mask unless you want covid.

Nice family friendly hike to the waterfalls with fun stream crossings in the winter. Can be crowded.
Nice if slightly smaller zoo for a big city. Orangutan and elephant areas are standouts.
Wonderful science museum that you can easily spend the whole day at. Kids love the space section where they can pretend to fly a space ship.
Nice easy paced path to look a a bunch of fossils and footprints. Cool to see red rocks as well.

Fantastic restaurant. The menu is very different then what’s online, but it’s all delicious. Cute back patio and very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice cocktails as well.
Popular shot hike - half on a dirt road, but beautiful scenery and a nice overlook of a raging waterfall.
